Post Anyone know of any water front property for sale
I am looking for water front property, the area must have utilities, fairly good access roads, not far from shopping centers. Anyone have any recommendations or names of people or honest companies selling.

Joel Rothstein,

You can talk to David at www.costaricaconsultants.com in Escazu. He's really a nice and honest guy. He helped us get our nice vacation house in Guanacaste.
Good luck.

Jules

Don't know how a real estate person in Escazu could also specialize in waterfront property, (Pacific side) however, I would recommend Rebecca Clower from the Tamarindo area.
Contact her at 347 9147 (cell), or office 653-0073. Ext 106

If you're buying a property anywhere in Costa Rica be careful not to fall into some agents who are only after the sale. They'll show you listings of properties of unbelievable costs and not giving you the chance to decide and see reasonable options. Our experience should be an eye opener to buyers. We were about to buy a nice vacation house which were shown to us a week ago after talking to some local agents in the area when a friend of mine from L.A. saw me and reffered me to David at www.costaricaconsultants.com. We were surprise to know that most of the properties shown to us before were 10 to 15% more than what my friend paid for the same or typical vacation house within the same location just 3 months ago. Well, I now live in my very own nice vacation house next to my friend's feeling saved from almost losing 10 to 15% more of my investment. It's a good feeling when you saved every penny out of your retirement fund. Laughing

To put your mind at ease, I am half Costa Rican, Half American, all my family lives here and I sell property at the non realtor prices. And, YES, it does exsist. You just have to have a realtor that thinks out of the box, and that's what I do. We're not all millionaires, nor do we want to pay more for property than it is worth.

Best wishes.

mediatica,

I'll be glad to recommend people like you too to friends I know who might be interested in buying their own retirement homes in Costa Rica. I'd like them to enjoy their retirement the way we do here.

Post Costa Rica real estate agents
Hello everybody,
I myself been thinking for a wile to move to Costa Rica but not yet have the right amount of money to do that
However I've been searching the Net for a while in order to find some properties, but there aren't so many websites in english offering a wide choice of properties for sale and many of the websites are based in UK
and I'm not from there.
Couple of days ago I found a directory which lists around 70 or more websites dealing with Costa Rican real estate and all of them are in english :

http://www.kasaproperty.com/index.php?c=89

From your experience, which area from Costa Rica has cheaper property for sale.
My budget is around 200,000 $
And if you have been dealing with one of the agents which one would you reccommend?

Thanks

Hey sabre001,

There are several nice locations anywhere in Costa Rica which is right for your budget. You just have to tell them specifically what do you want for a dream house. For instance do you want a place that's overlooking the mountain range or a property with a view of the blue ocean? Try to picture your dream house and agents will get it for you. Well it may not exactly be the one on your mind but I'm sure it's something close to your dream house with the mountain or ocean view with it of course. You may also want to consider it’s accessibility to market place, hospitals etc. and security of the location. With your current budget you can have all of these amenities. Try calling David Patey at www.costaricaconsultants.com. I’m sure he can help you. He facilitated the purchase of our dream house a few months ago. Good luck and welcome to Costa Rica!

I have a wonderful home with an additional guest cabina 200 meters from Playa Preciosa - 10 minutes from Puerto Jimenez on the best road in the Osa Peninsula as it is maintained by one of the local lodge owners. This is arguably the best beach in CR and it is frequented by 3 types of monkeys, macaws, toucans and much more. For more info please contact me at: cafelaonda@yahoo.com

Hi Joel,
If you haven't decided on the location you should first take a trip around Costa Rica and see which appeals to you most. If you want nature and action that check out the pacific but if you want a really wonderful pristine environment, gorgeous beaches and affordable prices go check out the Southern Caribbean. I have found my dream here. People are wonderful and very friendly and the beaches are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. We have two seasons here; the snorkling/diving season and the surfing season. The temperatures are very comfortable, never too hot or dusty, no need for airconditioning... Smile
I went with a local agency, small, family owned. Very nice people, Gregory Petin and his wife Anna, very knowledgable. They have negotiated a price 15% lower that the asking price and have made the whole expereince a very pleasant one. And they are with you all the way after the sale, helping you settle, giving out any needed information, advise or help. You could check 'em out at www.sunrisecoastrealty.com or emailing gregory@sunrisecoastrealty.com

Good luck to you,

Emily
