Post Brief Visit/ School Supplies
My family will be making a one day stop in Costa Rica in April 2008. My sons are in scouts and are collecting school supplies to bring to Costa Rica and Panama and we are looking for churches/ schools that will take them and get them to the children. I have spoke to several who have told me just to take it to the churches in Limon but I would really like to know exactly where I am taking them before I get there and wander around lost - and waste hours of my precious time there.

Also, if you only had 8 hours ( which I know is laughable) in Costa Rica (limon) where would you go. We were thinking of Tortuguero National Park. Is that a good choice, are there tours there or cabs? Any suggestions are welcome.

Post Don't Know Limon
I don't know Limon, but school supplies are available in Costa Rica, it is just an affordability issue. Notebooks etc. are outrageously priced outside of San Jose in the small towns the shops charge way too much. I always take two large suitcases whenI go to Costa Rica to visit friends and have a good time,
I fill one with stuff to give away that I know is cheaper in US, scuh as notebooks, and things purchased at sale prices.

As far as who to give to. I trust the Catholic Church. (No I'm not) Catholic) The church is always open, and usually there is someone you could give it to.

Hope it helps
