Hi - me again - I am trying to find out the best spot to go for day fishing trips. My husband is a big bass fisher and definitely wants to do some fishing while in Costa Rica. Can anyone tell me a good spot to stay for a few days and recommend a boat/company to take reasonably priced full day and 1/2 day trips? On-shore or Off-shore doesn't matter. Thanks again!

I think it would depend on the area where you are staying, time of year, weather that day etc... No one can guarantee a catch. Try the website www.costaricasportfishing.com. Do an internet search for Costa Rica fishing, as well. Our hotel booked our charter, out of Quepos, but I don't remember the name. Are you interested in catch/release or fishing for food? We combined the 2 and caught sailfish as well as mahi. I've heard the Tamarindo area is an excellent choice. Also you could visit the dock your first day and see which captain is bringing in the fish.

They offer fishing charters all over Costa Rica
