I want to spend the month of June in CR on the Pacific Coast. I want to rent and have friends and family visit me. Where do you recommend? Rentals? How is the weather in June? Any advice and recommendations are appreciated. Never been to CR, but anxious to visit.

Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful, you will definately not regret going there. There is so much to see and do, believe me, the month will pass quite quickly. I would definately once you arrive, get out of San Jose as soon as you can. I usually stay the night and then head out right in the morning. It is not too special and can be kind of dangerous at night.
I would head to the arenal volcano, it is a sight to see, go to the hot springs there, you can literally find hotels for $5.00american. Of course they have nice hotels as well. One really beautiful hotel is called the Tabacon. They have amazing hot springs at this hotel. If your not staying at the hotel, you can still go and just pay $20.00 for the day per person. Its worth it!!
Anyways, I have a house in the south pacific. I live near at area known as Dominical. It is a surf town. Really big in real estate right now, but for the most part is still a surf town. Some of the most beautiful areas on the pacific are Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Quepos and Dominical.
There is so much to do. I recommend zip tours, atv tours, surfing (there are beautiful waves throughout the pacific side of Costa Rica)

Do you have any recommnendations for Taxi service. The private vans are expensive. For example: Monteverde to Nosara is about 150.00. How much would a taxi cost, and are they reliable?
