Would the person caretaking have to look after the stock?

by 'stock' I assume you mean animals ? We have a caretaker that will be there daily (except sundays) the cattle and horses graze, the caretakers will tend to the chickens and he can even feed the dogs too, so there isn't much one has to really do.

Rain is usually very bad in October, what is the situation where you are?

yes you are right, in this area of Golfito, we get a good amt' of rain then, but we almost always have sunshine daily (before the rains set in) and its still warm even when it rains, so we don't mind it.............everything grows, and besides without the lovely rain, there would be no rainforest.!
