Post Requesting Travel Advice
Hello,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Costa Rica-hopefully in December. We are looking to stay at a nice all-inclusive resort on a nice beach, and fairly quiet with good food. We are also hoping to do some hiking, jungle/animal sightseeing, tours, etc.

Any information from those who have already been there would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance. Smile

Hi! we are also thinking about going to Costa Rica in December (right after Christmas). We are also looking for an all-inclusive with a nice beach and activities for kids since we'll be traveling with our 6 year old son. I found a lot of good information on tripadvisor.com, but I don't really know what part of Costa Rica to look for information on.

I was curious which side has better beaches - the Caribbean or the Pacific. Also, which airport is better to fly into - San Jose or Liberia. Liberia is much more expensive, but some things I've read about crime in San Jose have made me leery about using that airport.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Post Dear Gitane
Hi Gitane... First I would like to congratulate you for choosing Costa Rica. It is an incredible destination and I am sure you will enjoy it. Personally, I have been to several all-inclusive resorts along the coast and one of my favorites is Hotel Playa Tambor. I like it not because is the best hotel out there, actually is only a four star hotel, but because of the value for the money.
I like their food, they have a casino and a different show every night for a week.

You can schedule extra tours including deep sea fishing and diving. If you are looking for a great place without the price tag then check it out.

Take care

Post Are all the hotels booked for Christmas??!!
My family (2 adults & 2 daughters ages 5 & 9) are traveling to Costa Rica for Christmas -Dec 22 - Jan 1. I am having a terrrible time finding accommodations. We would love to be on the Nicoya Peninsula...or maybe south a bit around Manuel Antonio. I have spent hours on-line searching..

Anybody have any hints to help with my last minute planning?

Last Minute Mary - We are traveling to Costa Rica around the same time. We are leaving on Dec. 27 and returning Jan. 1. It will be my husband, me and our 6 year old son.

We decided to book at the Fiesta Resort and Casino. It is an all-inclusive in the town of Puntarenas. It's pretty central to a lot of nice areas. Also, we know someone who stayed there and loved it. I just booked it last week, and they still have openings. Expedia had the best prices.

Post I hear you guys!
I have been to the Fiesta Resort and Casino, and let me tell you that the thing I enjoyed the most was that it is located only like an hour and a half away from San Jose. HONESTLY! I am not kidding... Very Happy

For some people spending time in a car is fun, but for me any time in the car is time lost from relaxing in the beach.

Anyways... I think you guys will have an excellent time in the Fiesta( which means Party, for those who don't know Spanish).

Party and Beach... I am so jealous...

Post Fiesta Premier Resort Advice?
Hi, we are going to travel to Costa Rica in December and have done a lot of research on accomodations and cool stuff to see. We seem to be geared towards the Fiesta Premier Resort in the Bay. Has anybody stayed there and have any advice? Also, for the tours, we are thinking about the zip cord ride and a volcano...any ideas.

Your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
