National Museum
The national museum is the best way to conveniently receive, in a relatively short time, a representative overview of the history, society and culture of Costa Ricans.

Gold Museum
Gold fever in San José! The largest pre-Columbian gold nugget and jewelry collection in Costa Rica. Also displayed is the largest gold nugget of the world, found here in Costa Rica.

Jade museum
See beautiful figures carved from jade in this museum. Also on display are many art products and jewelry from the early pre-Colombian and indigenous times.
Open from 9:00am to 3:00pm M-F. Saturday and Sunday closed.

Serpentarium
Become personally acquainted with the poisonous snakes of Costa Rica! At no risk of harm, of course. There are 15 different species to observe here, all within easy view.
The Serpentarim is located on the road near the Hotel Del Rey and is opened from 10:00am to 5:00pm

Children’s Museum (Museo de los Niños)
In the former state prison is today the home of The Costa Rican Center of Science and Culture. Children and young people are brought closer to the secrets of science and technology here, with fantastic displays.
