Around Quepos
Matapalo
Between Manuel Antonio and the town of Dominical lies the sleepy beach hamlet of Matapalo. Sandy beaches covered with palm trees.
This idyllic beachside haven is an ideal place for peace-searching. There are many lodgings and small restaurants on the beach for visitors.
Suggestion: A horse trip with Claudia and her nice horses in the beautiful surrounding - beaches, mangroves, mountains.
Dominical
Farther south a few more kilometers lies the eminently popular Dominical. Backed by verdant hills of pastureland, residential enclaves and rainforest, bordered by a wide river, and having sandy white beaches with good rideable waves as its from yard, this classic tropical beach town beckons the surfer and adventurer alike.
This is a magical place where dolphins play with surfers in the waves.
Dominical displays a friendly, open atmosphere and the local population pays very much attention to the cleanliness of the beaches and public areas.
There are many possibilities for excursions and adventures. From Dominical, both Manuel Antonio and Ballena Marino national parks can be explored in day trips.
Other possibilities in the immediate area around the town are Poza Azul, a 30-foot waterfall with a deep pool to bathe in, and the Terciopelo waterfall with several swimming holes to enjoy.
Here are various lodgings in and around Dominical, of all classes.
