Are vaccines necessary for travel to Costa Rica?

Will be spending 10 days at Osa Peninsula and pacific coast in March. My doctor wants me to be vaccinated for hepatitis A, typhoid, and malaria. I wonder it this is really neccessary. Any thoughts appreciated.
