golfito is a good start to install your new home. for washing machines, aircondition, televisions and kitchen electrical equipment you spend much less then in san josé. everybody ticos and foreingers have to get get a shopping card one day before. it is allowed to bay $600.- each six months. sometimes somebady likes to get goods over $600 and so they have to get a shopping card extra. there are always some ticos in the shopping aerea trying to sell the rigths (about 7000colones) thats not legal, but everybody is duing that. a transport company (transporte delagado) takes care of your big boxes and bring theme to a good price up tu san josé. good luck
