you might want to check out samara. go to the website www.samarabeach.com for more info. there are alot of nice b&b's as well as hotels and cabinas on the beach, that are not listed on the website. the bay is gentle and several places offer snorkling tours. it is much more laid back here then tamarindo, more of a local flavor if that is what you are looking for.
