This is why we bring our own from Canada when we travel. Never go anywhere without your peanut butter! There is a small grocery shop in downtown San Jose, nr. the Gran Hotel (sort of behind it, nr. Burger King, Pizza Hut) that sells imported (to CR) peanut butter and I believe they have the "pure" stuff as well as the sugared stuff.
